Issues

There are many great literary magazines out there. Some are prominent enough to merit shelf space in national bookstore chains; some are virtually unknown, with tiny circulations. Still, we at Roux see room for more, and we are excited to add our own magazine to the mix. We love good writing – all kinds of good writing – and we know that with all the literary talent in the world, even the most gifted writers can have trouble finding places for their work. We want to provide another opportunity for these writers, whether they are unpublished, emerging, or established.

As each issue comes together, we are still working to find our unique flavor, but we do know that we want to publish all kinds of literature, both traditional and experimental. We don’t want to limit ourselves; we simply want to bring you the best work we can find.

We hope you enjoy Roux. Starting a magazine is a daunting task – there are so many decisions to be made, so much work to get done. We’re still fine-tuning, of course (the fine-tuning, we imagine, never ends), but we’re proud to see this publication in print. The effort has been truly rewarding.
